The interview on this recording was the first part of a three
part assignment given to Michael Nickras in the fall of 1990.
As a member of Dennis Dyke's advanced American History class,
Michael was to record a question and answer discussion with three
different people.
The second and third interviews were to be with individuals in
the community in Troy, Ohio. These were to focus on local history
and would be part of a planned exhibit at the Hayner Cultural
Center in Troy.
The first interview was intended to give the students practice.
The instructions were simple: talk to a friend or family member
about World War II. The finished audio tape was stored in a desk
drawer for the last fourteen years.
